Chaska, MN, founded in 1852, though constantly growing has always tried to maintain their mission of being the “best small town in Minnesota,” and retaining the value the inherently comes along with that title. In fact, a survey taken in 2000 revealed that the majority of new residents decided to call Chaska their home precisely for it's small town and friendly atmosphere.
The city council realizes the need to promote community development and small town values based on a high quality of life, and focuses its energy on doing just that. This is accomplished by creating and adhering to core community values of citizenship, responsibility, respect, generosity, environmentalism, human worth and dignity, integrity, and learning.
These values are very apparently reflected in the communities that exist within the city of Chaska, creating a close-knit community reminiscent of a small town, yet with the amenities and events of both a city and a rural destination.
